Photocopies of depositions, affidavits, testimony, subpoenas, and other documentation concerning the case of Alexis Bailly vs. Lawrence Taliaferro. In July, 1834, Taliaferro, the Indian agent at St. Peter, had confiscated a stock of whiskey that Bailly was transporting for trade with the Dakota Indians. This resulted in a lawsuit by Bailly against Taliaferro that was not settled until the 1840s.
